Tresor Lomana Lua Lua has been told he still has a future at Portsmouth.
Harry offers second chance.
Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp has informed Tresor Lomana Lua Lua that he still has a future at Fratton Park, but only if he puts the problems of the past two years behind him.
The gifted forward's talent is rarely disputed but he has endured off-the-field problems in recent years and Redknapp was thought to be considering his sale.
Lua Lua has, though, enjoyed a fine pre-season and after a hat-trick against Bournemouth in a recent friendly, Redknapp has big plans for the DR Congo international.
Wasted potential
"When he performs, he is a good player, but he needs a really good season," he told the Daily Star.
"Over the past couple of years he has not fulfilled his potential, so this is a very big season for him.
"When he gets the opportunity, he needs to show what he can do."
Lua Lua, oft linked with a move to Spain, has echoed his manager's words.
"Last season was hard for me, with injuries and family problems.
"I got criticised - and I criticised myself.
"There were no excuses from me, but I have had a great summer with my family and thought about things.
"Now I just want to play football."
