Lyon keeper damages knee
Lyon goalkeeper Gregory Coupet is set to be sidelined until December after sustaining a serious knee injury.
Coupet picked up the problem in pre-season on Thursday as his foot got tangled up in the net.
It was later confirmed that he had torn a ligament in his left knee and would be ruled out for four months.
Coupet will now undergo surgery on Monday, a day after Lyon begin the defence of their Ligue 1 title against Auxerre.
As well as missing a large chunk of the domestic season, Coupet will also have to sit out some crucial Euro 2008 qualifiers for France.
France, currently third in Group B, play Italy and Scotland in September and then Faroe Islands and Lithuania the following month.
