Former Scotland Under 21 international Peter Leven has signed for Chesterfield.
The midfielder has accepted a one-year contract with the League Two club, subject to passing a medical.
Leven has been training with Chesterfield since leaving Kilmarnock at the end of last season.
Spireites boss Lee Richardson is confident the ex-Rangers youngster will be a valuable addition to his Saltergate squad.
Richardson told the club's official website: "As a manager you like to have as many good players as you can, so I am delighted that Peter Leven has agreed to join us as he will add further quality to our squad."
