Drogba reveals League pain

Chelsea Didier Drogba has admitted how much it hurt watching Manchester United lift the Premier League title last season.

Stamford Bridge striker in determined mood

Chelsea Didier Drogba has admitted his Premier League pain after watching Manchester United lift the title last season. The Blues striker has revealed he is still reeling from losing out in the race for the top-flight silverware last year and is in a determined mood ahead of the new campaign. Drogba, who was the League's top scorer last season with 21 goals, says that even Chelsea's 1-0 win over United in the FA Cup final was not enough to satisfy the Stamford Bridge side. However, the Ivory Coast forward insists this will motivate the Chelsea squad, who won the League title the two successive seasons prior to United's success, to comeback even stronger this year. "Knowing they [United] have the Premier League trophy for a year hurts like hell," Drogba told the News of the World. "Since the season ended it has been painful sitting around thinking of their players enjoying the trophy instead of us.

Battle

"The whole Chelsea squad has felt it, it is not nice, and now it is up to us to go out and win back the title. "The way last season ended is still fresh in our minds. It was horrible we could feel the Premier League slipping away. "After spending all year battling for it, it wasn't to be for us. "Now United will keep the trophy until next May. That hurts even more. "To win it three years in a row would have been special but United were strong throughout the season and it is fair to say they played better football for large parts. "All I have thought about in the last few months is getting our trophy back. This Chelsea team is built to win things."
