Serie B side US Avellino have signed Rodrigo Defendi on a permanent deal from Tottenham.
The 21-year-old moved to White Hart Lane from Cruzeiro in 2005 but never made an appearance for Spurs.
Defendi has spent the past 18 months on loan in Italy with first Udinese and then Roma.
However, he mustered just two first-team appearances with the Serie A clubs, neither in the league, and returned to Tottenham this summer.
Defendi's departure from Spurs was expected and he has found a new home with the newly-promoted Avellino.
