Feyenoord agree to move

Real Madrid have finally agreed a deal for Royston Drenthe and expect to follow that up with an agreement for Arjen Robben. Real have been chasing both Dutchmen for a number of weeks, but now they have finally struck a deal for Drenthe - beating Chelsea to his signature. Feyenoord have accepted a deal worth around 13million euros (£8.7million) for Drenthe, who will sign a five-year contract at the Santiago Bernabeu. Real rejected an approach from Feyenoord to take Drenthe back to De Kuip on loan for next season. The 20-year-old is now due to undergo a medical in the coming days before being presented by Real.

Statement

"The player will undergo a medical in the coming days before signing a contract for five years," said a Real statement. Reports in Spain say Real are now waiting on Chelsea as they also look to tie up a deal for Robben. In a possible triple Dutch deal, Ajax's Wesley Sneijder is also said to be wanted by Real's new boss Bernd Schuster.
