Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler told Fantasy Football Club he is hoping to extend his playing career.

Liverpool legend isn't done yet

Robbie Fowler told Fantasy Football Club he is hoping to extend his playing career. The former Liverpool ace spent time last season playing in Thailand as player/coach of Muangthong United, however, the ex-England international is now hoping to get some game time on these shores before finally hanging up his boots. "I know I'm getting on now but I still feel I can do a job," he said. "If something crops up then I'll play. I've not had any offers yet and I don't know what's going to happen but I want to play for as long as I can. The older you get the more you appreciate football." Fowler also revealed he'd like to be involved in coaching or managing if there are no playing opportunities open to him, with a role in the media another option. "I'd be open to being player/coach and I'd like to get into management too," he said. "But if you can't play football, coach or manage then being on the media side watching footy is the next best thing."

Great goals

Fowler also reflected on his career on the show. He's the fourth-highest remier League scorer of all-time and bagged 183 goals for Liverpool during his time at Anfield. However, he picked out a couple of semi-final strikes as the most important of his career. "I scored a few in semi-finals," he said. "I remember scoring the winner in both legs of our League Cup semi-final with Crystal Palace. "But the best one was probably in the FA Cup semi-final against Aston Villa at Old Trafford. I scored two goals in that match but the first one was a diving header - which was pretty good for a little lad! Also while on the show Fowler revealed his Fantasy Football team for the new season.
