Sheffield Wednesday have signed Port Vale striker Akpo Sodje on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee.
The powerful forward handed in a transfer request at Vale Park on Wednesday after The Owls and Scunthorpe had bids rejected for him earlier this week.
During his time at Vale Park the 26-year-old scored 16 goals in 53 appearances since joining from Darlington last year.
Ammunition
Owls boss Brian Laws spoke of his delight at making Sodje a Wednesday player, he said: "Akpo is a big, powerful striker and will give us plenty of extra ammunition in attack this season.
"We have been creating plenty of chances in recent games and I feel that Akpo is the kind of player who can convert those opportunities.
"He is good in the air and his pace and power caused us problems when we played Port Vale in pre-season.
"I am sure he will cause our opponents plenty of problems now he is a Sheffield Wednesday player."
Sodje's contract was due to expire at the end of the season and the forward is eagerly anticipating making his first appearance for the Championship club.
Excited
"I am excited to come because I played against Sheffield Wednesday in pre-season," Sodje said.
"I have followed Sheffield Wednesday since they played Brentford a couple of years ago when my brother, Sam, was playing for them.
"It's a good club and a big club, I am just happy that I am going to be here."
