Port Vale have beaten off a host of League One sides to the loan signing of Southampton's David McGoldrick.
The young striker, who two seasons ago scored 44 goals at reserve and under-18 level, has penned a deal that will keep him at Vale Park until January.
McGoldrick has made four starts for The Saints and a further 11 appearances from the bench, but after bagging only one goal he was made the move in seek of first-team experience.
McGoldrick spent a loan spell at Bournemouth last season and bagged six goals for The Cherries in 12 appearances.
Delighted
Port Vale manager Martin Foyle told the club's official website: "I am delighted to get him. He has got pace and he is exactly what we need right know.
"We managed to beat off competition from Nottingham Forest, Leeds United and Luton Town, which is great for us."
The 19-year-old goes straight into the squad for the game against his former club, Bournemouth, on Saturday.
