Black Cats boss focused on success
Roy Keane has admitted that he feels he was 'born to play' for Manchester United, but also to manage Sunderland.
The Black Cats boss takes his side to Old Trafford on Saturday to cross managerial swords with United manager Sir Alex Ferguson for the first time.
Keane enjoys legendary Manchester United status following a successful decade with The Red Devils, but he is now intent on carving a similar reputation as Sunderland manager.
"I enjoyed every minute of my time at Manchester United," Keane told the Daily Star.
"I was definitely born to play for them. But, I also feel I was born to manage Sunderland.
Great plans
"It's part of my path in life definitely. Sometimes you think the man upstairs has great plans for me."
The Saturday meeting will be the first time Keane has returned to Old Trafford to see United in action, but he admits he will not be letting emotions affect him on the day.
"I'm not expecting the red carpet and hugs and kisses," Keane added.
"But United fans always seem to be generous to their ex-players. They have always given them a good reception and rightly so.
"They always appreciated my efforts so we'll see, but I won't be sidetracked by emotions."
