Charlton forward Luke Varney has stepped up his comeback from injury by playing in a practice match.
Varney, who arrived at the club in the summer from Crewe, has yet to feature for his new club because of injury.
The highly-rated striker picked up an ankle injury in pre-season and has missed the start of the season.
Varney played the full 90 minutes of Tuesday's game with Crystal Palace and Addicks boss Alan Pardew will be hoping he reports no adverse problems from the run-out.
The game also saw the return to action of Cory Gibbs after he suffered a knee problem in pre-season.
The American international, who missed the entire 2006/07 campaign with knee problems, came through 45 minutes unscathed.
