Wales head into their first competitive game without Ryan Giggs, in their Euro 2008 qualifier against Group D leaders Germany at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday, live on Sky Sports 1. The Manchester United star retired from international football earlier in the summer, and Wales manager John Toshak will be hoping his side can build on their recent 1-0 victory over Bulgaria. The Dragons' hopes of reaching Euro 2008 are slim, but preparation for the 2010 World Cup is ongoing and Toshak will continue to blood his Welsh starlets. The coach is expected to name an inexperienced side, which should include 20-year-old goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey, who will be hoping to make it a hat-trick of consecutive clean sheets. Freddy Eastwood looks set to feature after an impressive performance in Bulgaria, in which he capped a stunning debut with the winning goal. Robert Earnshaw is pushing for a place in the starting line-up, while Tottenham's Gareth Bale should start after some excellent performances in the Premier League so far this campaign. Joachim Low's side, who are five points clear at the top of Group D, go into the game in good form following their 2-1 victory over England. With usual skipper Michael Ballack currently out injured and Bernd Schneider serving a one-match ban, Miroslav Klose, the top-scorer at last year's World Cup, is set to be handed the captain's armband for the first time. Low may opt to start Kevin Kuranyi alongside the Bayern Munich striker, the pair form a prolific partnership having tallied more than 100 caps and over 50 goals. There are doubts over goalkeeper Jens Lehman, following his absence from Arsenal's last three league matches, but reports suggest he could play through the pain barrier on Saturday. Schneider and knee-injury victim Torsten Frings are missing, so Bastian Schweinsteiger could be asked to revert to central midfield. Philipp Lahm has also been ruled out with a knee injury.
