No hard feelings at Villarreal

Villarreal coach Manuel Pellegrini has said that he has nothing against Juan Roman Riquelme. Riquelme has been involved in a long-running transfer saga and has spoken publicly about his desire to leave the club. However, the midfielder is now staying at Villarreal and his manager has said that he has nothing against his player. "It was obvious that Riquelme's return was going to create a great expectation in the Spanish and Argentinean press," Pellegrini told an Argentinean TV channel. "I heard what he said in a press conference after the training session and I must say that I don't have a problem against Riquelme."

No guarantees

Pellegrini did, however, suggest that Riquelme's place in the team is by no means guaranteed. "Riquelme's position is already covered. We have other players for his place. "There are players that arrived at the club that have taken us to the position we are in."
