Dutchman defends rough reputation
Ipswich defender Fabian Wilnis has struck out against critics who have labelled him a dirty player.
The Dutch defender has been shown the red card four times in his eight-year Portman Road career and most recently received his marching orders for a bad tackle on Plymouth's David Norris in August.
Wilnis, who has made 229 appearances for the Tractor Boys, has now hit back at his rough reputation.
"It is frustrating for me to see so many people treating it as a big thing," Wilnis told the Ipswich Evening Star:
"I have played for Ipswich since 1999 and must have made hundreds of tackles.
"The huge majority have been fair ones, but there are occasions when your timing may be out. If this happens twice in a game you can be off."
