Manager slams reports of split in camp
Preston manager Paul Simpson has insisted there is still a good spirit within his squad.
North End have made a poor start to their Championship campaign and there have been reports of certain players being unsettled.
According to some rumours, there was a dispute between Simpson, former skipper Graham Alexander and vice-captain Paul McKenna over tactics and training methods.
But Simpson maintains there has never been any divide between any of the senior figures at Deepdale.
"I've never heard so much garbage in my life," Simpson told the Lancashire Evening Post.
"I'm sorry to spoil people's fun. But there is a really good spirit between everyone here, the staff and the players.
"Contrary to what people might have been saying, there is not a split in the camp. It's as simple as that.
"I don't know where these stories come from other than someone has gone on a message board telling lies.
"It is people who just want to try to cause trouble."
Alexander support
Alexander, who joined Burnley last week, has backed up Simpson's view, claiming he never exchanged cross words with the manager.
He explained: "There was a bit on contention between me and the manager over the contract. But there wasn't a bad situation. I had my opinion and he had his.
"We never had a falling out in the 12 months we worked together."
