Manchester City midfielder Geovanni wants to see the club back in Europe under Sven Goran Eriksson.
Midfielder wants City to fly high
New Manchester City midfielder Geovanni believes the team can reach the heights of European football under Sven Goran Eriksson.
The 27-year-old signed for the Blues in the summer transfer window and has played in previous European competitions for both Barcelona and Benfica.
"I have played in the Champions League and Uefa Cup, and I would like to go there with City," said the Brazilian in the Manchester Evening News.
This ties in with the long-term ambitions of new City owner Thaksin Shinawatra, who wants to see his team qualify for Europe by the end of next season.
Brazil call-up
Geovanni also has high ambitions of breaking back into his national squad. The once £11million rated midfielder has only made four international appearances for Brazil since debuting in 2001.
"The dream of every footballer is to play for their national team," he said. "I hope I will get my chance."
