Munich legend returns for scout role
Former Bayern Munich striker Giovane Elber has returned to the club to work as their South American scout.
The 35-year-old Brazilian revealed that he had agreed terms with Bayern bosses Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and Uli Hoeness last week.
"I am a scout for FC Bayern with immediate effect," Elber told Bild am Sonntag, adding that he will be looking for 'young and talented players with an emphasis on South America'.
He continued: "I am very proud that Bayern has shown trust in me for this new job."
Elber is the most prolific foreign goalscorer in the history of the Bundesliga and scored 108 goals in 190 appearances for Bayern.
Toni injured
Meanwhile, Bayern's current star striker Luca Toni is set to miss this Saturday's league game with Schalke through injury.
The Italian World Cup winner is still suffering from a thigh injury picked up in their 3-0 victory against Hannover last month.
