Norwich boss praises Czech striker
Peter Grant has praised David Strihavka for his match winning performance in Norwich's 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace.
The Norwich manager introduced Strihavka from the bench on Saturday and the Czech striker, who joined The Canaries in July from Banik Ostrava, promptly nodded in the winner.
It was Strihavka's first goal since moving to Carrow Road and Grant insists it is no surprise to see the forward find the back of the net.
"David has been doing very well in training recently so it was no surprise to me to see him come on and score a goal," said Grant.
"He missed two and a half weeks through illness but he's over that now and he showed what he can do.
"He got himself in the right area, was very alert, and got his goal. I'm glad he has got off the mark and I'm sure there will be a lot more to come from him.
Ability
"He was top scorer in the Czech League last season so he's no dummy. He has got excellent technique and you could see the ability he has got out there today."
Grant is also adamant his side deserved the victory.
"I would say we deserved to win the game but I know we can play a lot, lot better than that. At the end of the day though it was a massive win for us," Grant added.
Meanwhile, Palace boss Peter Taylor has admitted his frustration at seeing his side slump to defeat, but does not feel his position in the Selhurst Park hot seat is under threat.
"I felt we did enough to have got something out of it," said Taylor. "It's very frustrating because that's three matches in a row that we have lost 1-0 now.
"I do read the papers so I know what's being said but I have not had a conversation with the chairman, having said that I suppose a result today would have helped."
