Miller thankful for regular role

Ishmael Miller has admitted he is happy to be playing more regularly following his loan move to West Brom. Tony Mowbray snapped up the young striker on a season-long deal from Manchester City last month. Miller has said previously that he would like to have a long career with City, but for the moment he is happy to be making an impact in the Championship, having scored his second senior goal for Albion in Saturday's 4-0 win over Ipswich. "It was good to be playing - I got another goal and I'm delighted," he told the Birmingham Mail. "The manager's great and they've got some good players here but I just want to be applying myself, playing football. "I know I won't be handed a shirt - you have to earn the right to play and hopefully I can continue doing well. "I'm just happy to be playing football every week. I still love Man City but I'm happy to be playing here." West Brom have been inconsistent so far this season but Miller is confident they can achieve promotion. "Hopefully now we can get as many points as we can and get to the Premiership," he said. "You need that determination to keep a clean sheet and get as many points as you can. You need a togetherness - hopefully we can do that and keep winning."

Peace offering

Meanwhile, West Brom chairman Jeremy Peace has strengthened his position at The Hawthorns by increasing his stake in the club to 50.56 per cent. He is now obliged, as part of the takeover code, to make a mandatory offer to all remaining stakeholders at 80p per share. He explained: "I have acquired additional shares in West Bromwich Albion Holdings at 80p per share and under the takeover code because of the size of my pre-existing shareholding my purchase has triggered a requirement to make cash offers based on the same price for the outstanding shares in both WBAH and WBA. "These offers will give all existing shareholders the opportunity to receive cash for their shares should they wish to sell at this time."
