Portugal boss punished by Uefa
Portugal coach Luiz Felipe Scolari has been handed a four-game ban by Uefa and fined 12,000 euros after being found guilty of assault.
Uefa's control and disciplinary body handed out the punishment after Scolari clashed with Serbia defender Ivica Dragutinovic at the end of their Euro 2008 qualifier on 12th September.
Scolari appeared to throw a punch at Dragutinovic, who has been handed a two-game ban for improper conduct, following the 1-1 draw in Lisbon.
No contact
Scolari will now have no contact with his players during their vital final four Group A games away to Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan in October and the home dates with Armenia and Finland in November.
He is banned from entering the dressing room, the tunnel, the technical zone or going on the pitch before and during each game. Scolari is also not permitted to communicate with his team in any other way.
Portugal are currently third in Group A as they trail Finland by two points and Poland by four, although they have a game in hand on both countries.
Dragutinovic will miss Serbia's qualifiers in Armenia and Azerbaijan next month as a result of his suspension.
