Michael Brown is hoping Chris Hutchings remains in charge at Wigan, after playing under 17 managers during his career.
Midfielder hoping to settle at the JJB Stadium
Michael Brown is hoping that he remains a Wigan Athletic player under Chris Hutchings for a prolonged period of time.
The fiery midfielder, who was signed by Hutchings during the summer, has played under a remarkable 17 managers during his career.
The 30-year-old has played for seven different clubs in 13 years, but is now keen to settle at the JJB Stadium.
Sticking on 17
"It's ridiculous when I look back. I worked out Chris Hutchings is my 17th (manager)," Brown told The Sun.
"I must be going for a record, but that's it for now - I'm sticking on 17.
"I think it was Peter Reid, Brian Horton, Alan Ball, Asa Hartford as caretaker, Steve Coppell, Phil Neal, Joe Royle and Frank Clark at City.
"I was under Neil Warnock at Sheffield United while I had a couple of days with a guy while on loan at Portsmouth - Neil McNab, who took over after Alan Ball.
"I had Mick Tait at Hartlepool and at Tottenham it was David Pleat, Jacques Santini and Martin Jol. Then at Fulham it was Chris Coleman and Lawrie Sanchez, so Chris is my 17th! But I'm really enjoying it at Wigan."
Close-knit
Wigan have enjoyed a solid start to the season and are currently ninth in the Premier League.
But Brown insists the players are remaining level-headed, and are focused on improving as a side.
"It's an everyone-knows-each-other club because we're all together. Lots of players have come in but we're not far off the finished article," he added.
"We've had a couple of good results but we're not getting carried away."
