Sunday Supplement: Jack Wilshere incidents 'exasperating' for Arsenal

Jack Wilshere injury, Arsenal v Manchester United, Premier League

Arsenal are becoming increasingly "exasperated" with Jack Wilshere after another 'smoking' incident, reckon the Sunday Supplement panel.

The England international, currently sidelined through injury, was photographed this week with a shisha pipe and has previously been caught ‘holding’ a cigarette outside a nightclub, as well as being pictured smoking while on holiday in Las Vegas.

Jeremy Wilson of the Daily Telegraph said: "I think the sense was that they are not very happy behind the scenes (at Arsenal), that they’re pretty exasperated.

"I think it's because it has happened a few times – he’s had a few of these off-field things. And he’s been injured a lot, although he is due back this month."

The 23-year-old has suffered multiple injury lay-offs and has only managed to play 95 league games in the seven years since his debut.

Wilson added: "It’s a bit like Rooney, when he burst onto the scene he looked as good as the Barcelona midfielders.

"You just wonder how these things make a difference in the long run in regards to how they look after themselves.

"He’s clearly going to have a really good career, but will he have a great career?"
