Career change for MP as Reid revels in new role at SPL champs
Scottish champions Celtic have confirmed that former Home Secretary John Reid is to succeed Brian Quinn as chairman.
Quinn is to stand down from office at the club's annual general meeting on 19th November, with Reid to step into the breach.
Politician Reid, 60, is standing down as an MP at the next General Election and is clearly delighted with his change in career.
"Brian Quinn has been a superb chairman and is an extremely hard act to follow," said Reid.
"I have been a supporter of Celtic for many years and am delighted to be invited to join the board and carry on the great work that has already been done."
Meanwhile, Celtic defender Mark Wilson is to visit America next week for a consultation with Colorado-based knee specialist Dr Richard Steadman.
Widely regarded to be the best in the world in his specific field, Steadman will attempt to get to the root of the problem that has seen Wilson miss the champions' last two matches.
