Manchester United's promising midfield player Chris Eagles will not be joining Sheffield United on loan.

Robson loses out in his bid to secure United starlet

Bryan Robson has confirmed Chris Eagles will not be joining Sheffield United on loan. Manchester United's promising midfielder has previously spent loan spells with Sheffield Wednesday, Watford and Dutch side NEC Nijmegen. But it seems the 21-year-old will not be cutting a swathe for the Blades, despite Robson's friendship with Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson. Robson told the Sheffield Star: "Eagles is a very good player, but I don't think Sir Alex will be letting him out.

Improve

"Hopefully I can bring a few loan players in. You always keep working on that, you can always improve. "You can stand around all day and talk about the players you want to bring in. Like I've always said, if I've got something 100 per cent solid then I'll let the fans know." In further news from Bramall Lane, Robson has told former China international Li Tie that he can leave on a free transfer.
