Former Crystal Palace prospect John Bostock has said he would love to make a return to the Premier League from Belgian club Oud-Heverlee Leuven, particularly if new manager Alan Pardew was to come knocking.

Despite leaving Palace for Tottenham among some controversy back in 2008 when the two clubs were unable to reach an agreement, the 22-year-old said that he would be keen to consider a move back to the Premier League.

Pardew was confirmed as the new Palace boss on Saturday morning and, speaking on Soccer AM, Bostock said he still follows the club.

“It’s the club I love,” he said.

“It will always have a place in my heart. I always follow their results and if the opportunity was to come to go back there, then it’s definitely something I would look at.

“But I’m just focusing on playing in Leuven, playing in Belgium. I’m scoring more goals this year so hopefully if I can keep progressing, you never know.”

The move to Spurs, where Bostock played with the likes of rising star Harry Kane, was eventually decided by a tribunal which infuriated the Palace chairman at the time Simon Jordan, who effectively ripped up Bostock's season ticket to his boyhood club.

"Me and dad had season tickets since I was five. So 10 years prior to making my debut, we’d always sit in the Arthur Wait Stand but after I left, we couldn’t go back. Our season tickets were taken off us,” said Bostock.

"Looking back on it, there are some regrets with how I left as I love the club. It’s where I live, it’s where I grew up and it played such a massive part in my development and gave me a chance to do what I love to do.

"If I could have gone back and changed how I did it - and hindsight is an amazing thing - I think I would have chosen a different decision."
