Bundesliga minnows refuse to get carried away
Karlsruhe coach Edmund Becker says his team will not become over-confident despite their incredible start to the Bundesliga season. The newly-promoted South-West German outfit have stunned the league by winning six of their nine game so far to sit second in the table behind Bayern Munich.
But Becker insists that everyone at the club is fully aware that things can change rapidly.
Thin line
"I don't see any danger of me personally getting too big for my boots and I try to get that over to the team, too," he told Netzeitung."We want to enjoy the fantastic win over Schalke and the fact that we have got 18 points, but we all know that we have to continue working hard.
"It's a thin line between joy and too much joy, which can suddenly turn into arrogance."
Targets
Becker is refusing to think about anything beyond survival until they get 40 points."You can always have a great first half of the season and then start taking things a bit too easy. Add a bit of bad luck with injuries and things can turn sour.
"We want 40 points as quickly as possible and then we can see about changing our targets for the season."
