Soccer AM: Franky Fryer wins second Dance Off crown

Franky Fryer fought off his colleagues to win the fiercely-contested 2015 Soccer AM Dance Off at the second time of asking.
The showpiece event had to be replayed after the voting website crashed on January 10, rendering the previous week’s routines and performances void.
More than 13,000 viewers were able to cast their vote this time round with just over one per cent of the vote splitting winner Franky and runner-up James.
Franky, who won with 25.28 per cent of the public vote, started his routine with a knee slide across the dance floor, followed by an ambitious side splits before a number of Russian inspired lunges.
He brought his routine to a spectacular finish with a series of pelvic thrusts and a couple of cartwheels before crowd-surfing on the fans in the Luther Blissett stand.
Gracious in victory, Franky appeared to be shocked by winning his second Dance Off title. He dropped the trophy’s lid on several occasions before leading the plaudits for third-placed Scott, who produced a performance many thought had won him a maiden crown.
“I thought Scott had it to be honest, I thought he was brilliant,” Franky said. “I had no idea what move won it for me, like I said I thought Scott had won it.”
Runner-up James was fancied for the crown, but his 24.09 per cent share of the vote see him just miss out to eventual winner Franky.
Scott was the bookmakers’ favourite heading into the phantom dance-off but failed to live up to his billing and completed the final three with 16.6 per cent of the vote.
Six-time, and defending, champion Rocket received just 2.1 per cent of the vote after he saw a key part of his routine scuppered by the Soccer AM production team.
The crew caught wind of his plan to use the Ipswich fans at end of his dance but, after they were advised not to take part, Rocket was left stranded on the dance floor as his routine came to an anti-climactic end.
