In-form striker to stay at Elland Road
Leeds have handed a new contract to striker Jermaine Beckford. The 23-year-old, who has bagged six goals this term, has penned a two-and-a-half year deal at Elland Road. Beckford has been one of the highlights of Leeds' unbeaten start to the new league campaign - which has seen their 15-point penalty disappear in quick-time. Leeds are also understood to have handed new deals to Jonathan Howson and Beckford's strike-partner Tresor Kandol. No go Flo
Meanwhile, the club have confirmed that veteran Norwegian front-man Tore-Andre Flo has undergone surgery on a long-standing foot problem."We'll be patient with him and he's got to be patient too," said boss Dennis Wise.
"If he's back in six or eight weeks that's fine. He came off the bench last week, and he is capable of making an impact.
"It's been a difficult time for him, but hopefully this will help now. He was having the operation today and we'll take things from there."
