Bolton fail in bid to talk to Leicester boss
Leicester have revealed they have rejected an approach from Bolton to speak to Gary Megson about the vacant managerial position at The Reebok Stadium.
Bolton are actively searching for a new manager following the exit of Sammy Lee earlier this week.
Steve Bruce revealed on Thursday that Birmingham had turned an approach from Bolton to speak to him, while Real Sociedad are also reported to have refused The Trotters permission to talk to Chris Coleman.
Bolton also sounded out Megson, who only took over at Leicester last month, following the sacking of Martin Allen
Foxes chairman Milan Mandaric has rejected the approach from Bolton for Megson and is determined to keep the former Nottingham Forest boss at The Walkers Stadium.
Approach
A statement from Mandaric read: "Following widespread speculation in the media regarding Bolton Wanderers' interest in our manager Gary Megson I can confirm the Premier League club approached us early yesterday morning seeking official permission to speak to Gary.
"That approach has been completely rejected.
"Such interest and continuing media speculation has inevitably had an unsettling influence and is neither invited or welcome."
