Terriers boss looking to increase squad options
Huddersfield boss Andy Ritchie is planning to talk to the club's hierarchy about the 'budget and injury situation' and is set to open talks on loan extensions for Ronnie Wallwork and Richard Keogh. The Terriers have been without a number of players through injury and, although the problem has eased, captain Jon Worthington and Aaron Hardy remain sidelined.
Ritchie has been limited in his transfer dealings this season with a number of players leaving, and is expected to request funds to strengthen his squad.
However, with Adam Pearson having pulled out of investment talks in the club, it may prove difficult to raise money for players.
Ritchie is keen to hold onto what assets he has and will make an approach to keep West Brom midfielder Wallwork, who joined last month to ease the injury crisis, and Bristol City defender Keogh, who joined in August but had his loan extended at the start of October.
"I've been pleased with both Ronnie and Richard and I'd like to make some progress on possible loan extensions this week," he told the Huddersfield Examiner.
"I'm planning to talk to (West Brom manager) Tony Mowbray and (Bristol City manager) Gary Johnson over the next few days.
"The first thing is to ascertain whether their clubs would be happy to let Richard and Ronnie stay, then we'll look at our budget and injury situation."
