New owners to bring Italian flavour to Loftus Road
Queens Park Rangers are set to turn to Italian coach Luigi De Canio.
The R's new owners, Formula One moguls Flavio Briatore and Bernie Ecclestone, have been looking to the continent in their search for a new boss - following John Gregory's departure.
An Italian seems to be their preferred option, but moves for Gianluca Vialli and Franesco Guidolin have faltered.
Now De Canio seems set to be the man installed at Loftus Road, as according to Italian reports, he has been offered a two-year deal.
De Canio has an extensive coaching pedigree having taken charge of Udinese, Napoli, Reggina, Genoa and most recently Siena in Serie A - who he helped keep in the top-flight for two consecutive seasons before leaving.
De Canio has been linked with the likes of Livorno and Parma in recent months, but he is now set to accept the offer of a move to England.
