Goalkeeping coach asked to step down

Hans Segers has left his position as Tottenham Hotspur's goalkeeping coach with immediate effect. Following the sackings of Martin Jol and Chris Hughton on Thursday night, Segers has joined the exodus from White Hart Lane. Spurs sporting director Damien Comolli told the club's official website: "Hans has been a committed and enthusiastic member of the coaching staff and we should like to thank him for his contribution and hard work." Segers was appointed to the club's coaching staff in 1998 and made two first-team appearances during that first season in North London. His role at Tottenham will be filled on a temporary basis by Perry Suckling, who is currently the Academy goalkeeping coach.
