Michael Ricketts has completed a surprise loan switch from Oldham Athletic to former club Walsall.
The 28-year-old only moved to Boundary Park in the summer as a free agent but he has struggled to rejuvenate a stagnated career in the North West.
Ricketts has concurred on a three-month loan switch to the Bescot Stadium after successfully agreeing terms with Saddlers boss Richard Money.
The move has come somewhat out the blue given Ricketts started Oldham's game against Northampton last weekend.
However, he found himself dropped for Tuesday night's draw at Nottingham Forest and has now been shipped out.
