Jol outburst played down

Ex-Tottenham boss Martin Jol has not lashed out at sporting director Damien Comolli.

Quotes from the Dutch tactician in Friday's tabloids hit out at Comolli's transfer policy, stating the club's signings unbalanced the side.

However, Jol's spokesman has stated the quotes attributed to the former 51-year-old are not valid.

"These quotes are not attributable to Martin," confirmed a spokesman for the Dutchman.

"We believe they come from articles in Holland which in the translation from Dutch to English have been reported as coming from Martin, but they did not."
