Monaco chairman Michel Pastor has launched a scathing attack on the club's players, after a disastrous string of results.

Chairman unhappy with disappointing campaign

Monaco chairman Michel Pastor has launched a scathing attack on the club's players, with his side's pre-season hopes languishing in 11th place in the table. With European qualification among their targets, Pastor has openly criticised his playing staff as they look to resurrect their season, after a run of five defeats in their last six domestic clashes. "I am very annoyed by the situation at te club," he said in L'Equipe. "The players definitely have to be aware that no-one is happy with the results. The situation has become unacceptable.

Depressing

"We are feeble, dreaming, and we don't react. We had faith in them, and it is up to them to show their real value. "I am disappointed. It is depressing, difficult to stand." Despite the 'unacceptable' situation, Pastor moved quickly to state that Monaco boss Ricardo is not under pressure, but reiterated that his side cannot continue to disappoint. "Should Ricardo have any fear in case of defeat at Rennes? No, we should not think that way," he continued. "We have to react all together. Ricardo won't hang in the balance with the team. "If we want to go on aiming at the six first positions, we have to quickly come back. We can't go on this way."
