England Women defender Laura Bassett has joined Australian side Canberra United.
Bassett was the only England player at this summer's European Championships unattached to a club after Notts County folded in April due to debts owed to HM Revenue and Customs.
But the 34-year-old has now found a new team with Canberra confirming her signing in time for the 10th season of the Westfield W-League.
"I can't wait," Bassett told Canberra United's official website. "I'm so excited and I am really looking forward to meeting all the staff and players at this ambitious club.
"I am eager to start training with the team so I can fully immerse myself in the playing philosophy and culture of the club.
"I have only heard impressive things from players who have played in the W-League; positives such as the competitive fixtures, different playing styles and the players' commitment and professionalism."
New United coach Heather Garriock added: "Laura will be the backbone to our defence this season. She can either play centre-back or holding midfield, and having a solid spine is key for this season."
Bassett, who has also played for Arsenal, Leeds, Birmingham and Chelsea, was an unused substitute in England's 6-0 opening World Cup qualifying win over Russia in Tranmere on Tuesday.
She is the third Lioness to move overseas this year, following Toni Duggan's move to Barcelona and Lucy Bronze's transfer to Lyon.
