Steph Houghton scored an injury-time equaliser for Manchester City as they came from two goals down to draw 2-2 at home to Bristol City in the Women's Super League.
The visitors looked to be cruising thanks to goals from Danique Kerkdijk and Juliette Kemppi either side of half-time, but Nikita Parris' penalty halved the deficit with eight minutes remaining before Houghton had the final word.
Free-scoring Arsenal made it three wins out of three after Danielle van de Donk's hat-trick helped them edge a seven-goal thriller against West Ham.
The Hammers twice took a first-half lead through Kate Longhurst, only for Van de Donk's double to send the sides in at the interval all square.
The Holland midfielder completed her hat-trick just after the hour mark to give Arsenal the lead for the first time before Kim Little's strike gave them some breathing room.
Claire Rafferty's effort set up a grandstand finish, but Arsenal, who have scored 16 times in their opening three games, held on for a 4-3 victory that kept their 100 per cent start to the season intact.
Birmingham joined Arsenal on nine points, albeit in contrasting fashion, as Meaghan Sargeant's seventh-minute goal proved the difference at Reading.
The Blues have won all of their opening three matches 1-0.
Defending champions Chelsea are still searching for their first goal and win of the season after being held to a third consecutive goalless draw, this time drawing a blank at Everton.
Elsewhere Rinsola Babajide scored five minutes from time as Liverpool edged out Brighton 1-0 for their first win of the season.
