Palermo came from behind to beat Napoli 2-1, while Sampdoria piled the pressure on Empoli with a 3-0 victory. Mariano Bogliacino fired Napoli ahead on 55 minutes at Renzo Barbera, but Giovanni Tedesco leveled three minutes later. Tedesco then struck again in the 67th minute to help Palermo leapfrog Napoli and go up to seventh in Serie A. A Guillermo Giacomazzi own goal after six minutes set Sampdoria on course for an easy win against Empoli. Vincenzo Montella made it 2-0 five minutes before half-time and Paolo Sammarco added a third with just one minute remaining. The result leaves Empoli third from bottom, while Sampdoria climb into the top half.
