Beretta back as Siena coach

Mandorlini dismissed after Livorno defeat

Siena have sacked Andrea Mandorlini and have brought Mario Beretta back to the club as coach. Mandorlini had his contract torn up by Siena, just 24 hours after a 3-2 home defeat to fellow Serie A strugglers Livorno. Home supporters jeered Mandorlini during the game and the club confirmed afterwards that a decision on the coach's future would be made by Tuesday. A change has now been decided, with Beretta re-appointed after veteran tactician Zdenek Zeman had been linked with the post. Beretta was in charge of Siena last season, but left at the end of the campaign after keeping the club in Serie A. He has now been handed the same task this term, with Siena having won just once in 12 league matches to date.
