Former Everton boss no longer interested in Leicester job
Joe Royle has pulled out of the running to become the new Leicester manager.
The former Everton and Manchester City boss had been tipped to take charge at The Walkers Stadium following the departure of Gary Megson.
Royle met Foxes chairman Milan Mandaric last week but has now withdrawn his interest for personal reasons.
"I had a chat with Milan Mandaric last week and we got on great," Royle told the Leicester Mercury.
"But I decided towards the end of last week, for personal reasons, it would be best if I withdrew my interest."
Frank Burrows and Gerry Taggart are currently in charge of the team on a caretaker basis, but Mandaric is hoping to make a permanent appointment before Leicester's Championship game with Bristol City on 24th November.
Graeme Souness, Peter Reid and Jean Tigana were reportedly among the candidates interviewed along with Royle last week.
Coventry manager Iain Dowie and Plymouth's Ian Holloway have also been linked with the job.
