Former Arsenal striker believes McClaren's men can qualify
Former Croatia international Davor Suker has spoken of his hope that England will qualify for Euro 2008.
England's chances of securing a place in next summer's tournament are hanging by a thread, with qualification hinged on Israel taking at least a point off Russia.
Croatia, however, are in control of their fate and need just a draw against Macedonia on Saturday.
Suker explained that he originally predicted that both England and Croatia would qualify from Group E, and he still retains that belief.
Hope
"One year ago I predicted that England and Croatia will qualify from this group, and I hope my words come true," he told
Sky Sports News.
Croatia's success has been largely down to the tactical awareness of coach Slaven Bilic and Eduardo da Silva's prolific nature in front of goal - and Suker has praised the duo.
"We depend on the goalscoring of Eduardo. I would like to have more Eduardo's in the team," he added.
"He (Bilic) is a young coach, but he is experienced with types of games. And this is why we have confidence that we will secure a minimum of one point in Skopje."
