Defender faces Achilles surgery
Atletico Madrid defender Giorgios Seitaridis faces up to two months on the sidelines with an Achilles injury.
The Greek international is set to undergo an operation on the problem in Finland on Monday and is expected to require around six weeks to recover match fitness.
Seitaridis has been suffering with the injury for a number of weeks, but has continued to play for Atletico.
However, medical tests have now revealed that an operation is necessary and he will travel to Finland to see doctor Sakari Orava, who has successfully treated other Atletico players.
Seitaridis, who has 35 caps for Greece, joined Atletico in 2006 when he left Porto.
