Newcastle midfielder heads to Norwich on loan
Newcastle United midfielder Matty Pattison has linked up with Norwich City on loan until January.
Canaries chief Glenn Roeder has returned to his former club to bring in the South African on a temporary basis.
Pattison has not featured under Roeder's successor Sam Allardyce this season, but made seven appearances in the Premier League last term.
Roeder has been keen to add to his squad and is expecting the 21-year-old to make an impact during his time at Carrow Road.
Tough lad
"When I was the Academy manager at Newcastle, I was told that Matty Pattison would be our best player to come through into the first team and when I saw him play I was not disappointed," Roeder told First News.
"When I became the manager at Newcastle, I used him both as a substitute and starting a number of games.
"He's a tough lad, the right sort for where we are now - he does not know what it is to lose."
Pattison becomes Roeder's second loan signing since taking charge of the Championship strugglers, having brought in Martin Taylor on loan from Birmingham City.
