Leaders romp home in Group D
Germany bounced back from their defeat to Czech Republic with a 4-0 success over Cyprus in Euro 2008 qualifying Group D.
The home side were in front very early on with Clemens Fritz breaking the deadlock after just two minutes.
Miroslav Klose added Germany's second before Lukas Podolski confirmed the destination of the points shortly after half-time.
Former Aston Villa midfielder Thomas Hitzlsperger completed the win with a fourth eight minutes before the full-time whistle.
Level at the top
Czech Republic remain level with Germany on 26 points following a 3-1 victory over Slovakia.
Zdenek Grygera's early goal put the Czechs in front, although it was not until the 76th minute when Marek Kulic added to their lead.
Michal Kadlec's own goal gave Slovakia brief hope of a comeback before Arsenal's Tomas Rosicky sealed the win on 83 minutes.
In the early Group D kick-off, Wales salvaged a late 2-2 draw against Republic of Ireland at the Millennium Stadium.
Goals from Robbie Keane and Kevin Doyle cancelled out Jason Koumas' well-placed header, but Koumas' 89th minute penalty secured a draw for John Toshack's side.
