Should Shearer get the England job? Should Beckham play on Wednesday? Let the Supplement know YOUR views.
England were at the top of the agenda on Sunday Supplement this week after Israel's shock win over Russia on Saturday. The Sun's Shaun Custis insisted that result has saved Steve McClaren's job and the panel agreed that he must not be axed if England draw with Croatia on Wednesday and qualify for Euro 2008. Should England lose, Custis reckons McClaren's kneck will be on the chopping block again, but he insisted Guus Hiddink should be allowed nowhere near the job after Russia's "disgraceful" display on Saturday. Sunday's newspapers were full of stories that Alan Shearer is being lined up to replace McClaren, but The Independent's Sam Wallace mocked that idea. What do you think? Who would you like to see in the hotseat? Looking ahead to Wednesday, Martin Samuel of The Times said Peter Crouch must play up front on his own and England should play five in the middle. But he insists Shaun Wright-Phillips must start ahead of David Beckham because the former skipper is too slow and too unfit to face Croatia. How do you think England should approach the game on Wednesday? Should Beckham be involved? Should McClaren play Crouch as a lone striker in the absence of Wayne Rooney and Michael Owen? skysports.com wants to know what YOU think.
