Potters striker unsure whether to play in African Cup of Nations
Stoke City striker Mamady Sidibe admits he is facing a 'tough decision' over whether to play for Mali at the African Cup of Nations.
Sidibe is still feeling the pain from injuries suffered when he was attacked by Togo fans after Mali's qualifying win last month.
He is wanted to form part of Mali's squad for the finals in Ghana in the New Year, but remains unsure whether to play.
"It's a really tough decision and even my family are divided over it," said Sidibe in the Daily Star.
Still thinking
"Some don't want me to go back and play, but others do and I know I'm going to hurt some people and make others happy.
"I'm still thinking about it and I need to have a long talk with my parents. They don't want me to go back because of what happened and I've not got much time left to decide what to do."
Sidibe is currently playing with a strapping on his arm, an injury suffered when he was hauled through a broken window to escape Togo supporters.
He added: "It's still painful. The strapping is there to hold the arm together because the muscles are still not strong enough.
"But the doctors say it's okay and I needed to get back playing again as quickly as possible because it's important for me to try and forget what happened.
"If I keep thinking about it I would never play for Mali."
