Former Liverpool and Scotland captain Graeme Souness has talked signing for the Reds, beating England and winning the European Cup on The Fantasy Football Club.
With Liverpool hoping to finish in the Premier League top four this season and Scotland taking on England in a World Cup Qualifier at Hampden Park on June 10, the former midfielder looked back on some key moments in his career for the 'In The Picture' feature on the show.
Read on for Souness' memories of some of the highs and lows from his playing days...
December 1969
This was me at Tottenham. I left school at 15 and went down there at the end of June 1969. It looks like I've treated myself to a pair of new Adidas boots.
May 1985
This was a good day because this was the only time I actually played for Scotland and we beat England. At Hampden, I think that's me and Glenn Hoddle. Richard Gough scored a headed goal in the pouring rain. They were meaty affairs. There was a thought in Scotland that we were more passionate about that game than the English. That's not true, the English always wanted to beat us every bit as much as we wanted to beat them.
January 1978
In the Queen's Hotel with Peter Robinson and Bob Paisley. I was joining Liverpool from Middlesbrough. I was going there and I knew Manchester City and Leeds were interested in me but fortunately for me, when I got there it was Liverpool. I can remember Peter Robinson was standing there, he came in my car because I had driven over there and I was going too fast on several occasions, and he told me to slow down a bit!
March 1991
Me in the dugout. Ronnie Moran and Phil Boersma. We lost that day to Arsenal and of all the people to score it was Merse.
September 1984
This is Trevor Francis and I standing in the garden of the Villa we lived in, that led down to the Mediterranean. You had to give yourself a smack across the chops every morning to realise, 'Am I dreaming or am I really living by the Mediterranean playing football?'
June 1982
This is a picture of David Narey and I with Socrates. We played this game in Seville in the late afternoon, it must have been 100 degrees. And we made the schoolboy error of scoring first. That made us think we had a chance of beating this team. But they were arguably the best never to win a World Cup. Brazil in 1982. They had players like Junior, Falcao in midfield, the great Zico. This was a proper team.
April 1990
This was me being taken off the pitch after we won the league at Tannadice. Of course the supporters came on the pitch and they were rejoicing. Rangers was a great time for me. Coming to the end of my playing career and to the start of my managerial career, which at the start went very, very well. We won four leagues in five years so it was a great time.
May 1978
This was my first European Cup. I joined Liverpool in January 78 and four months later I am playing in a European Cup final at Wembley. We played Club Brugge that night and they were scared of us. We were the reigning champions and they never really made a game of it. We dominated the ball and Kenny got the only goal of the game, which we won. You can imagine the celebrations afterwards. We went to the Holiday Inn in Swiss Cottage and were up all night and back on the train to Liverpool the next morning. I don't think I slept very much that night. That was the first big one, great memories.
