Caparro steps up to the plate for rest of season
Hector Cuper has been sacked as Real Betis coach and been replaced by Francisco Chaparro.
Sunday's 2-0 home defeat to Atletico Madrid left Betis second bottom in La Liga after just two wins in the opening 14 matches.
Cuper had only been in charge of Betis since July, having been appointed as the permanent replacement for Luis Fernandez.
Betis said on the club's official website: "Cuper has proven himself to be a gentleman throughout his time at the head of the team.
"It is the results that have been the reason for his departure."
The Seville-based club have moved quickly to install youth team coach Chaparro as Cuper's successor for the remainder of the season.
Chaparro was in charge for Betis' final game of last term after Fernandez, who had replaced Javier Irureta midway through the campaign, left the job.
