Mutu's form earns Bernabeu attention

Despite rumours linking him with Real Madrid, Adrian Mutu has stated his desire to remain at Fiorentina. The Romanian striker, who had a troubled spell at Chelsea between 2003 and 2004, has been a revelation since arriving in Florence and his form has attracted the interest of a number of Europe's top clubs. Real Madrid are believed to have identified Mutu as a potential target for next season, but the player himself is refusing to be drawn on the speculation linking him with a move to the Bernabeu.

Flattered

"I am of course flattered by the rumours, but at the moment my mind is solely on remaining at Fiorentina," he told Sky Italia. He also told reporters that he is recovering well from his recent injury, and is looking forward to helping the club in their pursuit of a UEFA Champions League spot. Mutu added: "Physcially, I am not quite 100%, but I am feeling good. "I hope to have fully recovered very soon, and to be available for the upcoming matches. "Fiorentina are doing really well at the moment, we have only lost two games so far, and we are hopeful that we can keep this form going."
