Manager's pedigree too good to resist, says defender

Experienced defender Matt Carbon has joined MK Dons on an initial two-month loan deal. The former Derby and West Brom centre-half, who has been without a club since leaving New Zealand Knights in January, impressed manager Paul Ince during a trial. And he revealed it was the former Manchester United star's reputation that lured him back to English football. "I'm very happy to be joining the club; it's a great opportunity for me to be at a club that is definitely moving in the right direction," said 32-year-old Carbon. "The gaffer was probably the main reason why I decided to sign after a long trial period and now I'm looking forward to repaying his faith in me. "The first target for me is to stay injury free and give myself the best opportunity to get back playing first-team football, which I feel I should be."
